Visit to Grandma and Grandpa's

"Big Kid" Bath

Henry's umbilical cord/belly button interface has healed. We can now submerge him!

Henry's 2nd Doctor's visit

As if we didn't already know: Henry's big. He's following in Olivia's footsteps of gaining about 3/4 lb. per week: Weight: 12lbs, 10oz Length: 24" Big babies are great for your biceps!

Starting to Smile

Henry has just started to wake up and with the new alertness we're also seeing hints of smiles and smirks. He's long been laughing in his sleep and displaying the poop grin, but now we're pretty sure these are the real deal.

On The Couch

"Can I touch him after I wash my hands?" One hundred twenty-seven times a day we hear that. Honestly.

Liv and Henry

Mail Slot Game, Fuss?

Liv, Henry and I went to the farmers market while Jenny had an accupuncture appointment. As we were driving back we were playing a game that we often play, where Livvy hands me a piece of paper through the headrest and calls it "mail" and I mock open it and read aloud what she has written, and then I fold it back up, hand it back and she "reads" what I wrote in reply. We play all sorts of variations and the letters are sometimes silly, serious or nonsense. This time we played for quite a while, and I interpreted what she wrote as:
Dear Dad, I'm getting busy, please don't send anymore letters. Love, Olivia
After reading this aloud, I stuck out my bottom lip and got mock-sad. Immediately, Livvy started poking the palm of her hand with her index finger making beeping noises. Then she put her palm to her ear and said "Ring, ring!" Another pause, hand still to her head, "Hello?" Me, "Hello?" "Hi, it's me Olivia, please send me more letters." So I wrote back to her, and her to me. Her next letter I read again, saying:
Dear Dad, I'm going away, I can't take time to read more of your letters. Love, Olivia
And then I stuck out my bottom lip, mock-cried. Immediately, again, fingers poking palm, beep-beeps, "Hello?" Me, "Hello?" "Hi, it's me Olivia. What's all the fuss about?" That made me laugh for about 10 minutes.

Smiling So Hard it Hurts

Olivia has been taking steroids for her competitive smiling competitions. She's been working hard. Meanwhile, Olivier exhibits his natural charm.
