Second Birthday Party
We had a a local-family celebration for Livvy's second birthday. She had a blast with Halle and Sammy. The kids had homemade treats for dinner, and teh adults had Dog's bar-b-que.
We're still pretty sure that this was just like any other day for her -- she had no idea that we were celebrating.
Dad, Professional Smoocher
This morning Olivia has been playing obsessively with her choo-choos. Dad got her a nifty carrying case for her birthday, and she's been taking them out, greeting each one by name, and then having them perform certain actions.
The main attraction today was taking each train friend over to Dad on the couch, and having Dad kiss them one by one. "Daddy kiss Toby?" "Daddy kiss Duncan?" "Daddy kiss James?" Woe betide Dad if he forgot one - he'd be forced to start over and kiss them all again, just to be SURE.
Daddy, getting tired of the routine, suggested variations which resulted in several minutes of Olivia holding up trains, posteriors presented, saying "Daddy kissa booty?" "Daddy kissa booty?"
Which Mom found pretty darned funny.
Hiding Amongst the Coats
The coat rack at the front of the house provides great hiding spots. Can you spot the three kids?
The Oakland Zoo
We went for an impromptu visit to the zoo. While there, we met up with Gabe, her good friend from co-op. They took a few minute break from their constant kinetics to pose for these pictures.
What did we see at the zoo? Elephants, camels and...
And a visit to the zoo can't be complete without a ride on the merry go round.
Clown
We had a garage sale, and while getting ready we unearthed some wonderful hand-me-downs form Halle and Sammy. Livvy insisted on wearing the too-small clown outfit all day. I think it helped in attracting potential customers.
Bed Safari
Sometimes you need the proper attire before jumping into bed. Here, Olivia shows off her Banana Repulic gear, looking for wild animals and adventure.
Livvy's language development is just
Livvy's language development is just crazy. Here are a few of the things I've heard her say lately.
If you ask if she wants somethings:
"Yes, ok."
You give her something, you say, "What do you say" and she says:
"Ank You, Ur Welcome."
She just started saying:
"It's Cool."
These are a few from the last few days, out of context, but still cute:
"Daddy, I hear a kitty, listen!" (Cupping her ear with her hand.)
"Daddy, we're both drinking water!"
"Look, kitty. Middle street. Over dere!"
"Daddy, you uhuhuh blue eyes? Livvy uhuhuh blue eyes!"
"Daddy glasses cute!"
Uncle Dan and Olive
Uncle Dan stayed late and joined us for an inaugural ride of the new tricycle. They look like heroes, don't they? First place?
Fairy Land
We made our first trip to Fairy land in Oakland. Olivia loved it. We arrived just as they opened and lasted for 3 1/2 hours.
Corn Dog: A new treat for Olive. She liked painting the mustard on more than the corn dog. I think she thought it was an art activity more than an eating treat.
Merry Go Round. Another first at fairy Land -- rode on rides by herself. No fear, no concern, just as natural as jumping on the bed.
