At the Little Farm
We went to the farm with Matteo and his parents. I taught Olivia how to hold the celery in her mouth and let the cow take it from you. We laughed so hard that she insisted on holding the celery in her mouth even when the cow wasn't around.
Pickles and Berries, Oh My!
Livvy is picking up speed on the eating once again. She seems insatiable. She munches, snacks and eats full meals. Her basic menu remains fairly stable with yogurt, pasta, cheese and peas as the main ingredients of her diet. Honestly we're still thrilled when she eats anything.
Lately, she's become more adventurous. She ate a few Bubbies pickles -- a kosher variety of brined pickles. She eats blueberries, and fresh black berries when we pick them near the BART path. She likes muffins, too, even the ones willed with dried fruits and nuts. Healthy muffins! Imagine that!
She still likes sweets when she can get them, but she eats them in total moderation. A little ice cream here (this weekend, she ate a small cup of our homemade lemon verbena ice cream), or a small cookie there. She almost never asks for more than a small portion.
The only food she gets absolutely insane about is "Black" raisins (chocolate covered raisins -- which we've all but eliminated from her diet.... they now serve as a reward for a successful pee-pee on the potty.)
And, for those keeping track, the average price per pound of the foods she likes has been reduced from $10/lb to $9.79/lb.
Emma And Olive
Emma and Olive always have a great time playing together. In one of the rare moments where the near-perpetual energy has been reduced, we catch a glimpse of the two of them at rest.
Smoovy
We often make yogurt smoothies for Livvy. A keen observer will be quick to identify a smoothy day by the tiny, tiny details.
More Salty! More Salty, Please!
Olivia loves salt. She likes to dip her corn on the cob in it, or just sprinkle it on her plate and lick it off her finger. We limit her overall intake, but it's a great bargaining unit for eating other food.
"You can have more salt when you've finished the peas."

All My Friends Part 2
When Olga comes over, Olivia knows she's going to have a captive audience for fun and games. Her she requests that Olga cover her with all of her friends.
New Painting
We recently brought home a new painting (by Souther Salazr and Saelee Oh). Olivia loves it, looking at all the little parts of the whole,. Here she's showing Miffy the dinosaur.
All of my Friends Part 1
Olive is developing a large group of friends. She likes to bring each and every one of them with her on various activities. This is from a trip to Grandma's house - she wanted to hold all of them on the ride home.
Playing the Guitar
Olivia goes to music class every week, she loves the songs, especially when the teacher plays them on his guitar. We pulled our guitar out and she strummed it while singing the jumbled lyrics to one of the songs they play everyday.
She even pulled a Pete Townsend at one point, making me fear for her safety (and the guitar's!).
