I'm hiding!

Olivia loves to play hide and seek. One of her favorite spots is behind the coats near the front door. See for yourself, she's really hard to find.

Buford the Snake

Olivia has a rubber snake that we named Buford. Buford has come in handy on the eating front, because Olivia is often happy to have Buford taste a food that she's not sure about. She offers it to the snake, and then, without much thought, tosses the food in her own mouth.

The we ask, "Does Buford like it? And she responds, "Buford, nahlana, likes it! Ay-yah likes it!" (Olivia likes it.) and then pops a few more bites in her own mouth. Thank god for Buford. Even without Buford's help, Olivia appetite continues to grow. she'll actually site down and eat fairly large portions of one or two foods out of the six we offer her. We continuously offer this kid a buffet of options and her tastes still skew to the foods that cost more than $10 per pound. She is her father's daughter.

Earrings

Make up, earings, pumps -- Olive is a girly girl. She has incredible girly urges. Here's her first experience with earings. Samshing, huh?

Red Letter Day for Pee Pee on the Potty

This morning Olivia went pee pee on the potty. She sat down and had a nice long pee. She looked proud, amused and surprised all at once. we rewarded her with a "Brown Raison" (which, out of context, reading about toilet training might sound disturbing, but in reality is just a chocolate covered raison). She ran around without her pants on for quite a while, she brought her potty into the living room where she could have it within reach. A little later she yelled to us "I pee pee" and we went in and looked, and sure enough she had. Another Brown raison. After this raison, she walked into the kitchen and said "Mo Brown raison." And I explained that Brown raisons were for going pee pee on the potty. She accepted this and went back into the other room. Of course, no victory comes without losses. She also, in her pants-less state, peed on the couch. And then later in the bedroom on one of her dolls. We're positively reinforcing that she had an accident, and asked her repeatedly where she needs to go when she needs to go potty.

Playing with Elly

You really couldn't find a better role model than Elly. Olivia love spending time with her big girl friend.

Floor Fun

Sometimes nothing gets more giggles than a nuzzle from your mama.

Berries

A bunch of fresh berries grow along the BART path. We stopped and picked a few, offering one to Olive, expecting her to turn us down. She surprised us with a "yes." She ate a number of them -- maybe even 20 or so. We've repeated the activity twice now, and she'll eat them fresh off the bush, but not once they are at home.
