Nora and Olive

Nora and Olive Nora and Olive had a great day pf playing together. Then, towards the end of the evening we sat down for dinner. Nora demonstrated the need for nutrition, and Olivia folded to peer pressure and ate a healthy helping.

Dancing with Mama

Just about nothing better than dancing with Mama.

Potty Training Stuffed Animals

No potty for Livvy, yet. But plenty of potty time for Miffy and Elmo.

Olivia is Beautiful People

We had an event at work tonight. We took pictures of people and then printed posters with our new campaign. Olivia was our test model. (I'm pretty sure she was the reason that May 11th was named VolunteerMatch.org Day.)

New Tricks

So, in the last week or so Olivia has recognized that we have names other than Mom and Dad. We've been talking about it a lot lately. "What's mommy's name?" "Jenny." (or "Itsjenny") "What's daddy's name?" "Ahhh TeeJay!" T. Jay and Olivia were having this conversation the other night during her bath, when he added another question to the mix: "What's Pilot's name?" (without missing a beat): "Bassesss." T. Jay and I immediately convulsed into stunned laughter because, well, our nickname for our dog is "Bastard." And it's not all that surprising that after 21 months she picked up on that. Please note that we love the dog and use the term with affection. And it really does describe him to a tee.

Say That.

Olivia and I were dirving in the car, and someone stopped short in front of me and I said, "F--k That." Olivia: "uck. dat." Me, umph: "I guess I shouldn't say that." Olivia: "Say. Dat." Our parrot. Conversation coming up soon: Dad: "You can say that when you are home with Mama and Dad, but not around others." Olivia: "Say. Dat."

"Move on Back!"

Jenny and I bought Olivia some Play tools because she was interested in some of my tools that were layinjg around on the floor. Those pliers can cause a nasty pinch. I took them away and tried to explain that they weren't toys. Jenny suggested that we buy her some play tools so she could have her own while I was using mine. The next day I fond some at Mr. Mopps. I brought them home and began describing what the tools are and what they do. Hammer. Pliers. Level. Drill. Olivia picked each one up and payed with it briefly, before looking back in the tool box. I picked up the next one. Me: "Screw Driver" Olivia: "Move on back!" I looked at Jenny. Jenny looked at me. Paused 15 seconds. Me: "Oh!" Jenny: "What?" Me: "Well, that's what the Bus Driver says in Wheels on the bus. He says, 'Move on back!'" Little mind, big connections.

Glam

Olivia, the ever glamourous artists insists on keeping her cool while creating. Plus, it was really sunny.

Bay Area Discovery Museum

Olive, Elly, Greg and I went to the Bay Area Doscovery Museum and had a blast. The big hit of the day was the house made out of sticks. It's like a maze -- with little tunnels, nooks and crannies.
