Fun with Visitors
Yesterday was a big day for Olivia. Early in the day, Auntie Buffy (also known as "Ya Ya"), her son Andrew and their ADORABLE dog Heidi came over for a visit. Andy read Olivia books, and they played on the floor with the dogs (Heidi gave O. a thorough face licking). Then Olive put on her rain boots and we went for a walk around the block with many pauses to stomp/wade through the puddles.
Olivia was asleep within 2 minutes of their departure, she was so tired! Later in the afternoon, Katie, Jeff, Nora & baby Anneke came over to visit and have some dinner. Again, much fun was had with O & No running around, taking a bath and generally having a blast finding the middle ground between 1 and 3 year olds.
O. was so excited that she couldn't get to sleep until 10 pm last night. She just sat in my lap saying everyone's names.
"Dohah?"
"Yes, Nora came over."
"Kaaah?"
"And baby Anneke was here, too."
"Feff?"
"That's right, Jeff came over."
"Keeedeee?"
"Very good! Katie."
(Repeat 5 times)
"Ahdooo?"
"You remember Andrew? Yes, he visited us today."
"Yaya?"
"Mmmmhmmm, Buffy Yaya was here earlier, too."
"Eyedeeeee?"
"Do you remember Heidi, the little black dog?"
(Repeat at least 5 times.)
We *finally* got to sleep.
First thing this morning, Olive sat up in bed and said "Feff? Keedee?" Needless to say, another round of remembering and trying to say names ensued.
